Palladio in America
May 16-22, 2020
In the spring of 2020 we’ll be in Richmond to experience some of the finest Palladian architecture in America. From glorious private homes to impressive public buildings, we will be immersed every day in the rich legacy of the 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio. Venturing forth from Richmond’s divine Jefferson Hotel, internationally-recognized guides will provide unique insight and access to Berkeley Plantation, Westover, Mount Airy, Monticello, Williamsburg, and much more!
Join us in the autumn of 2020 for the tour of a lifetime – the Eternal City like you’ve never seen it! With exclusive access to some of the most elusive villas and art collections in Rome, and private visits to the Vatican, the Galleria Borghese, the Villa Medici, and the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo, the best of Rome will be ours! To top it off, we’ll be staying at the luxurious Hotel de la Ville, an 18th century palazzo at the top of the Spanish Steps.
There is possibly nothing more perfect than celebrating Christmas in the English countryside. And what could be better than spending it in a great country house surrounded by the finest art, roaring fires, and walks in a Capability Brown-designed landscape?! We’ll be based in Shropshire, where gingerbread was invented and where Charles Dickens’s grandmother lived, where our home will be the sublime Weston Park. There will be visits to Christmas fairs, a visit from carolers, a Christmas wine tasting at a 200-year-old wine merchant, a visit to Scrooge’s grave, and lots of other holiday goodies!
