Germany’s southernmost region of Bavaria is the wealthiest and perhaps most beautiful swath of the nation. It has been a center of power, patronage, innovation, and elegance for centuries, and its grand capital city of Munich will be our home, with lavish accommodation in the Charles Hotel. Our itinerary will be equal parts city discoveries and carefully fashioned excursions into the spectacular Bavarian countryside. In the soaring mountains to the south of Munich, we will discover King Ludwig II’s magnificent castles and palaces, as well as other architectural gems. Leading the way, along with American Ancestors’ Curt DiCamillo, will be beloved German expert guide Stefan Albricht, who will provide fascinating insights as we move between palaces, castles, museums, monuments, and gardens.
