House & Family History: Winkburn is a circa 1700 brick house of two stories with a main front of seven bays. The attic story was added later, probably in the 1830s. The house originally had a hipped roof with a cupola and balustraded parapet, much in the style of Belton House, Lincolnshire. The entrance hall features an Adam style fire surround that was removed from Welbeck Abbey and a Rococo style plasterwork ceiling.
