House & Family History: Wilderhope is noted for its fine plaster ceilings and remarkable wooden spiral staircase. In 1936 the Wilderhope Estate was purchased by the W.A. Cadbury Trust, who donated it to the National Trust on condition that it be used as youth hostel. The unfurnished house remains a youth hostel today.
