House & Family History: Udny has a 15th century keep and may have an even earlier core. For much of the 17th century the Castle lay abandoned; it wasn't until the mid-18th century that the family returned and renovated and reoccupied the House. In the 19th century wings were added (they were demolished in the 1960s). The current occupants, the Williams family, are descendants of the original family and are related to the owners of Kingston Bagpuize House in Oxfordshire.
