Tickenhill House (Tickenhill Palace) (Tickenhall Manor)

  • House & Family History: Tickenhill Palace, built by Henry VII for his eldest son and heir, Arthur, Prince of Wales, was once part of the current house. In 1499 the Palace Chapel was the site of the marriage by proxy of Arthur to Catherine of Aragon, who, after Prince Arthur's death, married his younger brother, who became Henry VIII. The palace also served as the council house of the lords president of the Welsh Marches. During the English Civil War, Charles II sheltered here.
