Thimbleby Hall

  • Earlier Houses: There was at least one earlier house on, or near, the site of the current house, including a Medieval house that was listed in the "Domesday Book" as the property of the King family of Northallerton Manor. The house was later granted to the bishops of Durham when part of the estate was gifted to Rievaulx Abbey.

House & Family History: Thimbleby Hall was sold in 1981, together with 3,379 acres. It was listed for sale again in 2005 for £7 million, together with 2,633 acres.
