Notes: Pritchard was a an architect who primarily designed country houses for the Shropshire gentry; however, he achieved fame for his design for the Iron Bridge at Coalbrookdale (completed 1779 and the first of its kind in the world), an instant phenomenon in its day and still a tourist attraction in 2006. Pritchard's drawing book is today in the collection of the library of the American Institute of Architects in Washington.
