Tadworth Court

  • House & Family History: From 1927 until 1983 Tadworth Court was the country branch of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. In 1984 the Department of Health transferred control of Tadworth to the newly-created Children's Trust and sold the remaining 40 acres of the Estate for £16.1 million, to be redeveloped for housing. In 1995 the trust acquired the ownership of Tadworth Court outright and appointed Donald Insall & Associates to carry out repair work.

Comments: Pevsner described Tadworth as a "splendid house" and "one of the most elegant in the whole country."
