Swanborough Manor

  • House & Family History: Stella Isaacs, Marchioness of Reading (1894-1971), donated Swanborough to the University of Sussex to be used as a residence for the vice chancellor; instead, between 1971 and 1985, the House was used as housing for postgraduates and lecturers. The House was ultimatley used as the vice chancellor's residence from 1985 until 1997. In 2003 the university sold Swanborough for £1.65 million.
