Somborne Park (Little Somborne House)

    House & Family History: Guglielmo Marconi, the Italian fascist inventor of the radio, leased the house at the turn of the 20th century. Marconi's first wife, Beatrice O'Brien, was the sister of Moira O’Brien, the first wife of Sir Frederick Edward William Hervey-Bathurst, 5th Bt., who family had owned Somborne Park since the early 19th century.

  • Garden & Outbuildings: In 2010 evidence of Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Roman settlements were discovered in the park. The house today sits within a 200-acre park.
