House & Family History: During the Norman Conquest, the senior male of the Dymoke family was selected to be the grand champion of England (he who was to pound at the door of Westminster Hall during coronations in order to defend the sovereign's right against all "comers"). Henry Dymoke, the last grand champion, served at the coronation of George IV in 1820.
Garden & Outbuildings: The Grade I-listed Gatehouse has been converted into a private house. The Scrivelsby Estate remains owned by the Dymoke family.
