House & Family History: Quendon was remodeled circa 1670-80, with the beamed north Dining Room added in 1866. The southwest wing, Billiard Room, and the west entrance were added for Sir William Foot Mitchell, who purchased the House in 1907. The interior was remodeled, a moat created, and the driveway rerouted for the 3rd Earl of Inchcape. Quendon was sold to Tower Investments in 1980 and is today an event venue.
Comments: House thought to be formerly named Newman Hall after the father and son Thomas Newman, circa 1540-1585.
