Plas Grono (Plasgrono)

  • House & Family History: Plas Grono is most notable today as the Welsh country house of Elihu Yale, who donated bales of goods (which were sold), artwork, and books to the Collegiate School in New Haven, Connecticut, in the early 18th century. In 1718 the school changed its name to Yale College to honor Elihu's generosity. After the death of Elihu Yale, the Plas Grono Estate was merged into the Erddig Estate.
