House & Family History: After World War II Penn Hall was purchased by the local borough police service and used as a residential and training hostel for the next 25 years. In 1974, with the creation of a West Midlands Police Authority, Penn Hall was purchased by the Education Committee and developed and expanded as the Penn Hall School, which serves handicapped children.
