House & Family History: Pendennis was built by Henry VIII in the mid-16th century. The Castle cost £5,614 to build and has defended Britain's coast for 450 years.
Comments: Historic England considers Pendennis to be "one of the finest examples of a post-medieval defensive promontory fort in the country."
