Parkes Castle

  • Earlier Houses: The courtyard of the current house contains evidence of an earlier 16th century tower house that was once owned by Sir Brian O'Rourke, who was executed at Tyburn, London, in 1591.

    House & Family History: Parkes is a plantation castle of the early 17th century. The Castle was restored in the late 20th century using Irish oak and traditional craftsmanship methods.
