Oxnead Hall

  • Built / Designed For: Clement Paston

House & Family History: The three-bay Banqueting Hall was probably added to Oxnead Hall in expectation of Charles II's visit in 1678. A new wing was added in the early 21st century. The House, together with 13.5 acres and many outbuildings, was listed for sale for £2.5 million in 2009. Oxnead is today an event venue.

Collections: Sir William Paston commissioned a large collection of statues for display at Oxnead; of these, Nicholas Stone's statue of Hercules, circa 1640, is today at Blickling Hall, Norfolk.
