House & Family History: In 1929 Offley Place was purchased by the Frobel Institute, who ran residential courses on gardening and natural history here. In 1943 Hertfordshire County Council bought Offley and used the House as the Hertfordshire Educational Department Residential Centre until the early 21st century, after which Offley was sold by the council into private ownership; it is today a hotel.
