Offley Place

  • Earlier Houses: The current house incorporates the 17th century east wing of the manor house of Offley St. Ledgers.

    Built / Designed For: The Rev. Lynch Salusbury

    House & Family History: In 1929 Offley Place was purchased by the Frobel Institute, who ran residential courses on gardening and natural history here. In 1943 Hertfordshire County Council bought Offley and used the House as the Hertfordshire Educational Department Residential Centre until the early 21st century, after which Offley was sold by the council into private ownership; it is today a hotel.
