Earlier Houses: Warren's Court, an earlier Medieval house on a different site, was probably demolished in the 17th century.
House & Family History: After passing through various tenants and owners, Nibley was left to the Church in Wales; in 1940 the church sold the house to Mr. J.S. Eley, in whose family it remained until the early 21st century. During World War II the Ministry of Works requisitioned Nibley and housed the 453rd Battery of the Monmouthshire Regiment here. From 1944 until 1946 Italian and German prisoners of war were quartered at Nibley. In 1947 the Eley family were able to return to the house. Nibley is noted for its Rococo plasterwork interiors.
