Built / Designed For: Archbishop Charles Cobbe
House & Family History: Newbridge is the only executed work in Ireland of James Gibbs (the design of the house was for years mistakenly attributed to Richard Castle). Newbridge, which contains some of the finest Georgian interiors in Ireland, was the focus of the luscious 2015 book "The Cobbe Cabinet of Curiosities: An Anglo-Irish Country House Museum," which was published to great acclaim.
Garden & Outbuildings: Lanestown Castle, a late medieval castellated tower house, is located on the grounds of Newbridge House.
