The second house (demolished) from a 1903 illustration. This image is in the public domain.
Earlier Houses: There was a circa 1700 house (the first house) on the site that burned down circa 1798 and was replaced by the second house. It was at the first house that the Jacobite supporter Lady Anne Farquharson-MacKintosh entertained Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746.
House & Family History: Moy Hall, in its various incarnations, has been the historic seat of the chief of Clan Mackintosh. During World War II the second Moy Hall (see "Images" section) served as the headquarters of the 27th Armoured Brigade of the British Army.
House Replaced By: In the 1950s the second house was demolished after it was discovered to be riddled with dry rot. Between 1955 and 1957 a much smaller house (the third house) was erected on the site.
Garden & Outbuildings: The circa 1860-70 Baronial style Category B-listed stableblock is extant.
