Earlier Houses: Part of the foundations of the first Loughcrew House, a classic Irish longhouse dating from 1673, can be seen inside the garden. This first house was the home of one of Ireland's newest saints, St. Oliver Plunkett.
House & Family History: The Naper family today make their home in the former Orangery. The restored gardens are open to the public and there is a noted opera festival, Loughcrew Garden Opera, founded in 2000, that is performed in the garden. The house's Greek Ionic portico today stands as an eyecatcher, or folly, in the grounds.
Garden & Outbuildings: At its height in the early 19th century the Loughcrew Estate stood at 180,000 acres.
Chapel & Church: The family church stands in the grounds of Loughcrew Gardens.
