Lincoln Castle

    House & Family History: Built by William the Conqueror on the site of an existing Roman fortress, Lincoln Castle has had many uses, most recently serving as a prison, a function it served until 1878. The Castle is famous as the home of the original Magna Carta, which has been housed here since 1215. Lincoln Castle underwent a £22 million restoration project in the early 21st century.
