House & Family History: For the last half of the 20th century the House served as a convent (for the Sisters of the Sacred Heart) and as a residential care home. Lemmington was listed for sale for £1.25 million in August of 2002, after which it was purchased by the Ruff family, who restored the House and reconverted it into a private home again.
Garden & Outbuildings: Between 1785 and 1786 James Evelyn erected a column in the Park at Felbridge Place, Surrey, in memory of his parents. This column, designed by Sir John Soane, was purchased by Sir Stephen Aitchison in 1928 and re-erected at Lemmington.
