The House from a circa 1905 postcard
Earlier Houses: The 18th century house, itself now encased by the 1904 re-building, was built around an earlier house.
House & Family History: Kirklington is today the result of a 1904 remodel that left the House in a stuccoed Jacobean style. The 1904 re-do was over an 18th century house (the House "was then embattled and had octagonal tower-like wings," according to Pevsner) that was itself the remodeling of an earlier house. Very little of the 18th century house survives today.
