Belmont Castle (Kirkhill Tower)

  • House & Family History: In 1918 the Caird family donated Belmont Castle to Dundee Corporation (Dundee City Council), who, in 1931, leased the house to the Church of Scotland, who operated a retirement and holiday home for convalescing men here. In 2013 the church closed the home and Dundee City Council listed Belmont Castle for sale in 2014. According to legend, Macbeth made his last stand here.
