Kimmerghame House

  • Earlier Houses: An earlier house on the site was demolished in the 1850s and replaced by the current house.

House & Family History: Kimmerghame was greatly damaged by a serious 1938 fire and only partially rebuilt. The actress Tilda Swinton's father is the current (2014) owner of the Kimmerghame Estate. Kimmerghame House should not be confused with the boys' boarding house of the same name at Fettes College, Edinburgh.

Collections: An inventory of the earlier house and its furnishing survives today in the Library of the current house.
