Kerse House (The Kerse) (Glenane) (Little Castle)

  • Earlier Houses: There were a number of earlier buildings on, or near, the site of the current house, including monastic buildings of the Tironesian monks of Lesmahagow Priory and an early 17th century house called Glenane that was demolished when the current house was built.

    House & Family History: In the 19th century Kerse was the home of John Greenshields, author of "The Annals of the Parish of Lesmahagow," which was published in 1864.
