Jesmond Manor House

  • Earlier Houses: Nicholas Grenville's 12th century house once stood on the site of the current house.

    House & Family History: John Anderson purchased the House in 1809. House was later used as a retirement home. The iron gates from the House were recently installed at the Byker Wall housing development.

    Comments: House used to be called Jesmond House. John Anderson purchased the House in 1809 and was said to have "much adorned and beautified it".
