Invercauld House (Invercauld House) (Castle of Invercauld)

  • Earlier Houses: There was a 16th century tower house on the site of the current house (part of the basements of the earlier house were incorporated into the current house).

    House & Family History: In 1956 Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother leased Invercauld for the shooting season while her home at nearby Birkhall underwent buildings work. Invercauld House is the traditional seat of the chief of Clan Farquharson, who have been here since 1632.
