House & Family History: When actor John Wood owned Hidcote House (not to be confused with nearby Hidcote Manor, which is owned by the National Trust), the House was noted for the parties Wood hosted that were attended by his celebrity friends, including Maggie Smith, Johnny Depp, Woody Allen, Ralph Fiennes, and Lauren Bacall. In 2017 Hidcote House was listed for sale for £3 million.
