Built / Designed For: Nicholas van Hoogstraten
House & Family History: Hamilton Palace is an enormous house named after Bermuda's capital. This massive house is larger than Buckingham Palace, on which it is modeled, and is purportedly the largest and most expensive private house built in Britain for a century. The house is in the Neoclassical style, complete with a cooper dome, and has walls three feet thick. Thus far, it has cost £40 million, and it isn't yet complete. The house contains Louis XV furniture, a 600-foot-long art gallery that contains, among other canvases, a Holbein.
Garden & Outbuildings: A mausoleum has been built in the park.
