Haling House (Haling Park)

  • House & Family History: Haling was the home of Lord Howard of Effingham, admiral of the fleet, sent by Elizabeth I against the Spanish Armada in 1588. The House and parts of the Estate were purchased by the Whitgift Foundation in 1920; in 1931 Whitgift School was opened.

  • Garden & Outbuildings: Haling Grove, today a public park, was originally part of the Haling House Estate.
