Greencroft Hall

  • House & Family History: The British Army occupied Greencroft Hall between 1939 and 1945. The House was abandoned after the army left and quickly decayed; Greencroft's fittings were sold in 1954, including white marble Adam-style fireplaces. The House was demolished in 1960.

  • Garden & Outbuildings: The east Gothic arch and cottages, Greencroft Tower, and the Stableblock were created in the 18th century. The Stableblock is the visitors' center at Beamish Museum.
