Glyndebourne House (Glynde Bourne)

  • House & Family History: In 1934 John Christie built an opera house in the garden that has become, with many later enlargements and additions, the world famous Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Though it produces a wide variety of operas, since the company's founding Glyndebourne has been noted for its productions of Mozart operas. Since 1964 the primary resident orchestra for the festival is the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
