Gawthorpe Hall

  • House & Family History: Gawthorpe resembles Bess of Hardwick's great house of Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire and may very well have been designed by the same architect: Robert Smythson.

    Collections: Gawthorpe is home to the Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth textile collection, which includes an unparalleled collection of needlework. The National Portrait Gallery also has on loan a number of important historical portraits.
