The house from a circa 1920 postcard
Built / Designed For: Angus Fletcher
House & Family History: Dunans is quite possibly the only significant extant example of the Franco-Scots Baronial style on the West Coast of Scotland. It is by the Edinburgh architect Andrew Kerry and is of three stories: rubble with heavy, masculine ashlar dressings. Dunans Castle was gutted by fire on January 14, 2001 and has been left as a ruin by the current owners, Charles and Sadie Dixon-Spain, who purchased the castle after the fire.
Chapel & Church: The third floor of the house contained a chapel with small arch-head windows.
