Notes: Edinburgh architect who attended Edinburgh Academy and the University of Edinburgh. Kerr was articled to Frederick Thomas Pilkington and John Bell of Edinburgh; he was later draughtsman for F.T. Pilkington and assistant to John L. Murray. He began independent practice in 1881 and passed his qualifying exam in 1889.
