Drummond Castle

  • Comments: The gardens at Drummond are considered the most important formal gardens in Scotland, and among the greatest in Europe.

  • Garden & Outbuildings: John Drummond, 2nd Earl of Perth, created the famous gardens in the 17th century. John Milne created the multiplex sundial (Milne was master mason to Charles I). The garden plan was renewed for Phyllis Astor, Countess of Ancaster, in the early 1950s.
