Derby House (26 Grosvenor Square)

  • House & Family History: The lease of Derby House was sold by the 14th Earl of Derby in 1851 to the Dowager Duchess of Cleveland; upon her death in 1861 the House was purchased by Sir Charles Freake, who demolished Derby House and replaced it with another house. This second house was ultimately demolished to make way for the American Embassy.
