Combe Bank (Coombe Bank) (Comb Bank)

    House & Family History: In the early 19th century Combe Bank was the childhood home of Henry, Cardinal Manning. Between 1879 and 1880, when the house was owned by the mathematician and physicist William Spottiswoode, president of the Royal Society, the Library was redecorated by Walter Crane in a 17th century Italian style.
