Church Westcote Manor (Westcote Manor)

  • House & Family History: In 1999 Church Westcote's owner, Raoul Millais, died and the House and its 22 acres of ground were put on the market for £2.75 million. After a stiff bidding war that reportedly included Liz Hurley and Elton John, Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes won the House with a bid of £3.3 million in 2001. After the couple purchased Church Westcote, close inspection revealed serious structural problems and wet and dry rot that may cost £1.5 million to correct.
