Earlier Houses: An earlier half-timbered house was demolished circa 1800 and replaced by the house that is the subject of this record.
House & Family History: During the demolition of the house paneling was removed and installed at Rookery Hall, Cheshire, and in the smoking room of the ocean liner "City of Durban." A carved wooden Georgian fireplace from Calveley was removed and installed in Capesthorne Hall.
