Calmsden Manor

  • Built / Designed For: J.A.K. Falconer

House & Family History: Mr. Falconer, who purchased the Calmsden Estate in 1914, originally engaged Guy Dawber to enlarge the existing T-shaped Cotswold farmhouse into a proper country house; however, these plans were never carried out. It wasn't until 1924 that the farmhouse was actually enlarged, this time to the plans of V.A. Lawson, who built a house in the Cotswold Tudor style, very likely incorporating many of Dawber's ideas.

  • Garden & Outbuildings: Calmsden was once part of the Rendcomb Park Estate.
