The House from a 1910 postcard
Built / Designed For: 6th Earl of Coventry
House & Family History: James Wyatt designed Broadway as a Saxon-style tower folly for the 6th Earl of Coventry in the late 18th century. At 1,024 feet above sea level, it is the second-highest point on the Cotswold escarpment and is famous for its wide-ranging views to thirteen English and Welsh counties. Between 1822 and 1862 the Tower was used by Sir Thomas Phillips to house his private printing press.
