Brightwell Manor

  • Earlier Houses: A Medieval house on, or near, the site of the current house was probably demolished by Henry II in the 12th century.

    House & Family History: In the mid-20th century Brightwell was the home of William Ralph Inge, a well-known eugenicist, misogynist, crusader against social welfare, and opponent of democracy. In February of 2023 former British prime minister Boris Johnson purchased Brightwell Manor for a reported £4 million.
