House & Family History: The two-story core of Boxley House was built in the 17th century, with 18th and 19th century additions and alterations. The Maidstone brewery family of Styles lived here from 1865 until 1945, after which it became a boys' school. In 1966 plans to develop the park into a zoo there were turned down. In 1967 the House became Boxley Country Club, and later the Boxley House Hotel.
