Notes: Peto was an architect and garden designer. He was the son of Sir Samuel Morton Peto, the engineer and railway magnate, of Somerleyton Hall. In 1899 Peto purchased Iford Manor, Wiltshire, where where his garden designs made him famous. He was a partner with Ernest George in the firm of George & Peto.
