Bold Hall (Old Bold Hall)

  • Earlier Houses: An earlier Medieval house, Old Bold Hall, was situated on a moated site near the 18th century house. It was altered many times over the centuries and was demolished in 1936.

    House & Family History: Bold Hall sat upon a wealth of minerals, most specifically coal. It was this black gold that led to the destruction of the house and its replacement by the Bold Colliery development in the early 20th century.
