House & Family History: Belladrum House was sold to James Stuart in the early 19th century; Stuart remodeled the entire house in the style of a French chateau. The Merry family purchased the Estate in the mid-19th century and remained seated here until 1957, when Ian Merry demolished Belladrum House. Merry's daughter later sold the Estate, which was divided into multiple ownership.
